Upton Grey Tipi Wedding | Maine and Ben

Upton Grey near Basingstoke, Hampshire was the location for one of the most gorgeous, unique and inspiring weddings I have had the privilege of photographing. An outdoor wedding in the UK could have been asking for trouble, but what Maine and Ben created for their tipi wedding celebration was worth the risk.Assisting the supremely gifted Claudia Rose Carter I had the task of hanging out with Ben and his pals in the lead up to the blessing. I arrived to a scene of Ben and a collection of ushers and parents frantically trying to add the finishing touches to their tipi wedding tent. This would be the venue. If you haven't seen a wedding in one of these before, I urge you to check it out. Just darn cool. Ben is a teacher by day and he had enlisted his pupils in the run-up to the big day to make the geometric shapes which would adorn the tipi and blessing area. They really stood out and gave the whole setting a real unique quality to it.Next it was off to the pub to watch Ben write his vows (nothing like last minute) and after a quick beer it was back to the field to await the arrival of Maine. I have never been so gobsmacked by a brides arrival before. Maine's dress looked like it had been created just for her. It was truly stunning and she seemed to glide. These two were the sweetest, kindest and most beautiful people you could hope to meet. The fact I got to capture their day made me feel very happy indeed.
