AN INTIMATE WEDDING FOR

GINA AND KELVIN

Jason I cannot say thank-you enough they are so incredible - I’ve cried, Kel nearly has and both mums are absolutely thrilled!!!! I honestly never imagined I would be so happy with them but they are stunning and We love them.

Sometimes you get thrown a curveball.

Gina and Kelvin had booked me fairly recently for their wedding planned for next summer (keep your eyes peeled around June time). The plans made perfect sense - a festival themed wedding (the knees up) with a registry office "legal bit" a few days beforehand. The reason for this was Gina's Grandad. Unfortunately his health as it is would mean he probably wouldn't be able to handle the traipsing across fields to spend the day in a hot tent. Although, having said that I am sure he would still love to give it a good go.

However, in early October I got an email. Gina's grandad had taken a turn for the worse and they were keen for him to be able to attend their legal ceremony. They bent the arm of the registrars and were fortunate enough to be able to get a date for the wedding in a few weeks time. Of course, when they contacted me to see if I would cover it for them, I said yes instantly.

The day was to be a small, intimate wedding affair with just immediate family for the ceremony followed by a meal after. And so it was, on a chilly Monday in early November I headed for St Albans registry office to capture Gina and Kelvin say their "I do's" in front of those who mean the most to them. They were quite adamant they wanted this to be a "real" wedding and we had to do it properly. Therefore, I dragged Gina and Kelvin to the nearby car park for some portraits (as you do).

They loved it. I loved it. I hope you do too.
