Happy weekend all. It's an absolute stinker out there. Storm Brian is kicking off and it's just generally pretty gloomy. I guess a good way to maybe brighten things up a little is to step back to the summer, when the sun shone (kinda) although it still rained anyway - so maybe that's not a good example. Anyway, I'm rambling.
Luke and Alex got in touch about their wedding plans a while back, they had in mind a simple legal ceremony at a registry office followed by a wedding celebration at their house which would act as their "real" wedding. Now, why do my couples always insist on moving house at the same time as getting hitched? As if planning a wedding isn't hard enough. Anyway, Luke and Alex insisted on doing this and they moved into their new pad literally a week or two before the big day.
They held their ceremony in the back garden, with a mix of humanist and Greek traditions with a nod to Alex's background. It was such a simple idea, yet it was exactly what they wanted - all of their friends and family, LOTS of cake, a few drinks and good knees up. How they crammed that many people into their house when the British summer reminded us what it's all about a decided to chuck it down for an hour or so I don't know, but they did.
This wedding was quite different from the run-of-the-mill. Very stripped back. DIY. Simple. It was perfect.
