CARLA AND HOWARD

Carla and Howard's gorgeous day started as any good day should - bacon butties made on the BBQ in the back garden. They are my kinda people.

Carla and Howard got in touch after a recommendation from Sue at Bleu Bridal who I have been lucky enough to photograph a few of her brides. They explained that they aren't too keen on having their pictures taken (who is?) and that they simply wanted their day to be full of fun, laughs and love. Again, my kinda people.

I met Carla at her parents house where they she would be getting ready along with her two bridesmaids. It was an extremely chilled morning spent chatting, eating and the odd glass of fizz or two. Along with her assistant, Lisa was working her way through the make-up and hair and as is always the case it was already time for dresses and shoes before hot footing it St Andrew's in Hamble.

After the ceremony Carla, Howard and I headed into Hamble village for some photos around the streets. Hamble is a goldmine of interesting little doorways and alleyways and other ways that it was a photographers dream. We then headed to Bradgate Manor in Netley for the rest of the days and nights shenanigans.

I don't know where to start here, there was so much going on. From the epic food supplied by the ever awesome Flaming Peaches, to the music provided by Johnny Moody, all the way through to the band the MP3s and more than a game or two of Hammerschlagen (if you haven't heard of it, look it up - or see the photos later).

The day whizzed by and it wasn't until I got home and looked back at the photos I really took in what had happened. A top day spent with a beautiful, friendly and kinda crazy bunch.
