What happens when two gorgeous souls decide to fly all the way from Australia to have a wedding outside in the Surrey countryside at Millbridge Court? It rains of course. Did that dampen their enthusiasm? No. Did that make them have the wedding inside? Also no. Connie and Nathan epitomise the roll with the punches attitude I love in a couple. Having photographed over 400 weddings I can tell you now that no wedding will run exactly to plan, so you’ve two choices - you can let it get to you and let it ruin your day, or you can embrace it and realise that you are marrying your one-and-only, and that’s all that matters. And so it was that Connie and Nathan stuck to their guns, up went the brollies, and they got hitched. Plus the rain stopped 5 minutes into the ceremony anyway, so their “sod it” attitude was totally vindicated.

I love a venue at which both parties get ready. It means I can shuttle between the two, as was the case at Millbridge Court. Connie hung out with her girls and mum in the loft room while Nathan and the guys got ready in the cottage next door. It’s such a lush, well though out place and I always love shooting here.

We’ve gone over the rain, but how amazing is the outside space? It’s such a perfect spot for a ceremony, and you can see why Connie and Nathan stuck to their guns. After the ceremony there was time for ping pong, drinks, photos, and some music. Everything was decorated beautifully, with flowers from Frankie Lane adding to the amazingness. Speeches led to plenty of tears, and the dancefloor led to plenty of cowboy hats and interesting moves. I had an utter blast.
