Romsey Abbey and Tithe Barn Wedding | Laura and Michael Part 2
Laura and Michael's Romsey Abbey wedding followed by a reception at Tithe Barn just screamed photograph me. In case you missed it, Laura and Michael asked me to photograph their engagement party which took place the week prior to the wedding. You can check out the post here. Having shot the engagement party so recently I was totally energised for the wedding itself. As Laura and Michael were pretty close to one another on the morning of the wedding I was able to capture both bridal and groom prep which is a rarity.I caught up with Michael and the guys at their hotel just in time for breakfast. Cool as ever, Michael (or "Thunder" as he likes to be called) took it all in his stride. No sign of nerves really that I could see. Once he was suited up it was off to Laura's mums house to catch up with the girls. Bridal prep is always my fave time of a wedding and hanging out with the girls was really sweet. Laura's mum is such a sweetheart and we became best pals I think (I tend to make a lot of pals during a wedding).Next it was off to Romsey Abbey.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type="1_2"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text" background_layout="light" text_orientation="left" use_border_color="off" border_color="#ffffff" border_style="solid"]Man alive, Romsey Abbey is a building and a half. Laura and Michael though did it justice. They both looked incredible, Michaels velvet blue suit set off against Laura's soft and natural look really complemented one another fantastically. The ceremony was cool, the light in churches can sometimes be a struggle but the abbey was surprisingly bright (bonus!!) so I had a blast. Family shots done outside the church it was then off to the reception.Tithe Barn near Petersfield in Hampshire is a venue I'd always wanted to photograph but had never got the chance to...until now. Cue kid in a sweetshop, I was straight on the lookout for cool locations for photographs. I always try and steer clear of the obvious, to try and be original with my images. I think I did pretty well (if I do say so myself). The barn looked beautiful, the table decorations by Lucy Cockburn really set the tone for the evening - subtle, stylish and with a hint of the vintage about it. Before we knew it, it was sparklers, cake cutting, first dances (Laura dancing with her father while Michael sang was a particular tear jerker) and then party time. This is where this crowd are a cut above. Shapes I didn't know existed were thrown in abundance.I love Laura and Michael; a more cool, sweet and generous couple you could not wish to meet.
