This was my first trip to Smedmore House, a stunning country manor on the Dorset coast. Put it this way, if I’m lucky enough to go back it’ll have a lot to live up to, because what Sarah and Mark created for their wedding was simply sublime. Even with the rain, Smedmore House, Sarah and Mark dealt with it and then some. I’m a little bit in love.

The one thing I always say with weddings is that you can plan everything but the weather. Initially the plan was for an outdoors ceremony and it was touch and go up until an hour or so before it was due to start. But then came the rain. A lot of rain. Plan B was to have the ceremony in the front room of Smedmore House, the centrepiece being a crescent moon from the team at Nudo, and well it was just meant to be I guess. having us all crammed into this room gave the whole ceremony a real atmosphere, and it just felt so organic and natural. That’s what I’m all about - unfussy, natural, heartfelt, and a bit of cool thrown in too.

Ceremony in the bag, Sarah and Mark hitched, it’s time for fun, drinking, food, dancing, and a whole heap of lush images. I will always be thankful when couples put their trust in me and Sarah and Mark did just that. We chased the sunset, stood in flower meadows, and just kept things fun and relaxed. They were a pair of troopers. At Smedmore House we were spoilt for choice.

Here’s Sarah and Mark’s Smedmore House wedding as I saw it.
