Micro-wedding in Winchester // An-Sofie and Ryan
During the times when the dreaded “C” took over the world in 2020, couples were forced to rethink their plans and go for a far smaller wedding - the now fabled micro-wedding was born. Of course, smaller weddings had been around for a while, but they now had a name, and ever since then micro-weddings have been becoming more and more popular. Winchester registry office has become almost a second home for me for these smaller weddings, with the abundance of amazing restaurants and bars within walking distance meaning couples can still have a really cool day of it, without the 200 guests. An-Sofie and Ryan were one such couple.
I was only with An-Sofie and Ryan for a few hours, but we hit it off right away. I met them at Winchester registry office for the ceremony before we doused them in confetti and then took a stroll through Winchester to the cathedral park. Every little alleyway and corner has an opportunity for a photo, and they happily followed as we explored the streets. We took some portraits, had a chuckle, and then made for Forte Kitchen, a beaut of a restaurant just off the High Street for speeches, cake and dinner.
I love a micro-wedding, so much so I started offering a micro-wedding package to couples. So if you’re planning a micro-wedding, give me a shout!
Anyway, here’s An-Sofie and Ryan’s micro-wedding in Winchester as I saw it.
