FARBRIDGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

HELEN AND EMMA

I often bang on about how lucky I am to do this job, the opportunity it gives me to meet new people, to photograph people in love and all of that gushy stuff. Well, having the chance to photograph two of your best friends as they say their I do’s pretty much tops the lot. I headed off to Farbridge wedding venue near Chichester. This was to be a day of colour, laughter, tears, rum and gin, and of course, my dearest pals.

Helen and Emma are I guess pretty similar to a lot of couples I photograph, in that they aren’t too keen on having their photographs taken. However as we had had a pre-wedding shoot together (you can check it out here) they were so at ease it made my job so much easier. Or maybe it was that they both looked amazing and I struggled to find a bad shot? Or maybe it’s simply I just love them both so much? Who knows.

This wedding had absolutely everything dear to Helen and Emma. A Harry Potter theme (including¬†Gryffindor common room decked out with sofas hired from a local charity shop), shoes shoes and Irregular Choice shoes, an abundance of colour, Gin and Rum, and the star of it all was Oliver, Emma’s son. An absolute trooper who even gave his own heartfelt reading during the ceremony.

Gin and Grub

Their day started getting ready together in Farbridge’s dedicated bridal suite. One thing I love about Farbridge is they have really put a lot of thought into the whole venue. Nickie and her team made sure the day went so smoothly and everything was taken care of. After a touching and heartfelt ceremony they were played out to the Star Wars theme (did I mention I love these guys?) we quickly headed off to the disused dairy farm up the lane for some portraits. What a place! I could have stayed all day but alas the rain clouds drew in therefore we headed back for some Gin and grub.

The meal was an afternoon tea with some of the best cakes ever followed by another quick portrait shoot. The giant balloons I had taken great pleasure watching the guys trying to inflate earlier were put to good use. Everywhere I looked there was a photograph. Being told repeatedly throughout the day to “put the camera dow, have a gin and dance” did no good (although the band, Wayward Sons, were pretty flippin epic). I was loving life too much. Capturing this day for two of my besties was the tonic to my gin (or the ginger beer to my rum depending how I am feeling).

Here it is then – Helen and Emma and their Farbridge wedding.
